Missoula Baby Bistro
Feeding, sleep, balancing work with a new baby… new parents have a lot to juggle! Having a new baby can also feel isolating. Having a good support network and a space to ask questions can be really helpful. Baby Bistro is a free support group for parents and babies that mostly focuses on helping parents address challenges with feeding their babies. You can meet other parents and babies while getting support and advice around breastfeeding, milk production, pumping, and more. Baby Bistro is facilitated by trained lactation consultants and features guest speakers with information about feeding challenges as well as other important topics like sleep, growth spurts, and water safety.
Parents who want to participate in Baby Bistro during the pandemic are in luck! While meetings have shifted to an online format, they are still available and can be accessed from the Missoula Baby Bistro Facebook Page! Meetings are held on Wednesdays at 11:30, and are divided up into two parts. The first part features a presentation from a guest speaker, and parents are encouraged to ask questions by commenting on the video. Following the live presentation, a Zoom session is offered for those wanting to converse, ask questions and get to know other families in a private setting. Zoom login information is posted weekly on the Missoula Baby Bistro Facebook Page. Anyone raising a baby is welcome to join! And if you can’t make the actual Baby Bistro meeting, you can watch the Facebook Live recordings at your own convenience. Even though connection has to be virtual right now, Baby Bistro can still help new parents create a sense of community.
